There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the border from next door Thailand, where gambling den betting is against the law. Eight gambling halls are based in a relatively tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. The original Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational resort and hotel compound that highlights a number of comforts in addition to the gambling den, which provides 10,000 square feet of 130 one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
